Did Someone Really Pay $3.7 Million Cardano (ADA) Fee?

Abstract generation in progress

According to data provided by Whale Alert, someone recently shelled out a whopping $3.7 million ADA in order to send a single transaction

However, many pointed out that the fee was an infinitesimal 1.6 ADA (0.83).

Whale Alert's monitoring bot incorrectly logged the aforementioned $3.7 million figure as the deposit when it was, in fact, the entire deposit.

SecurityBot founder Josh Marchand has noted that Whale Alert is posting "completely false" information

According to Marchard, it appears that Whale Alert actually calculated the fee based on the difference in input and output values, which is clearly incorrect

"Please, consider consulting with an expert from the Cardano community to make sure your integration is complete and bug-free. We want Cardano to be represented fairly and without any embarrassment for you," he added

In other news, someone paid a $112,745 ETH fee for a single transaction earlier today
