The EU passed the eighteenth round of sanctions against Russia, dropping the price cap on Russian oil.
Jin10 data reported on July 18 that the European Union has reached an agreement on the eighteenth round of sanctions against Russia, with new measures aimed at further targeting Russia's crude oil and energy industries. Diplomats stated that this round of sanctions will lower the Group of Seven (G7) price cap on Russian oil from $60 per barrel to $47.6 per barrel. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Borrell announced on social media platform X: "The EU has just approved the harshest sanctions against Russia to date. We will continue to raise the cost of war until stopping the action becomes Russia's only option."
