Ernst said, "Ten years ago, when I entered the US Senate, my promise was to make them scream. That's what we're doing at the Government Efficiency Department." She added that she has been committed to reducing government waste over the past decade, with her office releasing a monthly memo called the "Scream Award," listing various examples of "waste, fraud, and abuse" within the federal government.
