Data Gold 7 November, Oxford Economic Research Institute Africa Division stated that after Trump returned to the White House, African leaders would have to be prepared to deal with tighter monetary policies. The institute pointed out that the more restrained policy easing of the Federal Reserve and the strengthening of the US dollar could have a negative impact on the African economy. The institute stated in a report: 'From a geopolitical perspective, many 'carrots' that have been used to maintain influence in Africa in the past will be replaced by 'sticks'. African leaders will have to deal with more confrontational and transactional exchanges with the United States.'
