Trump will meet with the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan at the White House on Wednesday.
Gate News bot message, since the outbreak of intense conflict along the Pakistan-India border earlier this year, President Donald Trump will meet with the Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, marking his first official visit to the United States, and the conflict ultimately led to a ceasefire between Islamabad and New Delhi under U.S. mediation.
According to the President's daily public schedule, Trump's lunch with Pakistani Foreign Minister Asim Munir will be held at 1 PM Washington time on Wednesday in the Cabinet Room of the White House.
According to Pakistani media reports, Pakistani military leaders are expected to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Peter Hegseth during their visit to the United States.
The latest conflict between rivals in these two regions stems from a shooting incident on April 22 in Indian-administered Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians and sparked gunfire. New Delhi claims that this massacre was a terrorist act orchestrated by Pakistan. Islamabad's leaders deny any involvement.
Trump stated that he used trade as a bargaining chip to facilitate a ceasefire between the two South Asian rivals - India has repeatedly denied this claim, but Pakistan has expressed acceptance.
This week, Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet at the G7 summit in Canada, where the two countries will negotiate a new trade agreement.
But a day before the anticipated bilateral talks, Trump returned to Washington, stating that he must deal with the turmoil in the Middle East.
Indian officials initially stated that Modi would not attend the G7 summit, as India is not a member of the G7, but he has been invited by the host, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.
