Analyst: Intel's 14A process advancement still requires time, and there is high uncertainty in the short term.
Jin10 data reported on July 25 that Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger stated in a conference call with analysts that the company is developing advanced 14A process technology, which will make chips more efficient. However, he also noted that mass production of 14A may not begin until the end of this decade. He added that the timeline also depends on whether Intel can secure a "significant external customer" to share development costs. Morgan Stanley analysts pointed out in their report that customers' decisions on adopting 14A may take another 18 to 24 months, leading to a high level of uncertainty regarding Intel's foundry and AI roadmap in the short term. Meanwhile, Intel will continue to consume cash and further cede market share to AMD in the PC client and server markets.
