The Russian participating ships are the missile cruiser 'Varyag' and the frigate 'Marshal Shaposhnikov,' both of which have already left the port of Alexandria, Egypt and headed to the exercise area. Egypt will deploy the 'Qadir' (ENS Al-Qadeer) frigate for the exercise. The exercise, known as PASSEX, will include joint maneuvers, communication, and inspection operations.
