The Director of the U.S. Digital Holdings Advisory Committee, Bo Hines, called for the establishment of a national Bitcoin reserve using budget-friendly methods to ensure the country does not fall behind in global competition.

Bo Hines, Executive Director of the U.S. Presidential Advisory Committee on Digital Assets, said that the country should not miss out on global competition on Bitcoin. Speaking to Thinking Crypto, Hines argued that the U.S. should create a "national strategic Bitcoin reserve."

"Bitcoin reserves can be created without straining the budget"

Bo Hines stated that this reserve could be established in budget-friendly ways. In this context, the official emphasized that innovative financing models should be focused on, suggesting that revenues generated from customs duties could be utilized as an example.

According to Hines, the US should not fall too far behind in the field of digital holdings and should especially not delay in taking steps regarding strategically important holdings such as Bitcoin. Such policies are important for both economic security and national strategy.

Although there has not yet been an official announcement of a Bitcoin purchasing program from the U.S., messages of this kind from high-level officials indicate that Bitcoin is being taken more seriously at the governmental level.
