The world's largest derivatives exchange CME Group announced yesterday that it would launch XRP futures trading. Following this announcement, excitement towards XRP increased, and a piece of good news also came from Japan.

According to local news agency Coinpost, support for XRP has come from Mercari, Japan's largest second-hand sales platform.

Mercari's cryptocurrency arm Mercoin announced that it has added XRP to its platform. With this integration, over 20 million monthly active users will have access to XRP for as low as 1 Japanese yen (JPY). Users can easily purchase XRP directly using their existing balances, Mercari points, or bank transfers.

Mercoin added Bitcoin (BTC) in 2023 and Ethereum (ETH) in 2024.

XRP becomes the third cryptocurrency to join the list, indicating that XRP has a deep-rooted place in the Japanese financial sector.

Mercoin also added that it plans to further increase XRP awareness in Japan and explore various ways to create opportunities for XRP investors.
