Current Status
1. The BTC price is currently ~117,939 USD, with an intraday high of 120,012 USD and a low of 117,346 USD.
2. The Satoshi era whale, after a 14-year hiatus, has taken action and transferred a total of 40,009 BTC (~4.7 m$) to the Galaxy Digital OTC account.
3. Galaxy transferred approximately 6,000 BTC of these BTCs to various exchanges.
4. After these transfers, the BTC price pulled back by nearly 6% during the day, stabilizing around the ~115,700–116,900 USD range.
The Meaning of This Movement and Its Possible Effects
• Corporate liquidity test: The transfer of a large amount of BTC to an OTC desk indicates the depth of inter-institutional liquidity.
• Price reaction: The 40,000 BTC move did not create a negative impact, which means that the market can digest even such large transactions ().
• Sale or transfer? The portion going to Galaxy Digital may not necessarily mean a direct sale; gradual selling strategies are often applied at OTC desks.
