⁉️ Hackers from BlackCat rebranded?
🛡 According to TRM Labs, the sought-after group of hackers ALPHV BlackCat, which has been carrying out hacks on critical infrastructure in the US for several years, may have migrated to the group Embargo.
➡️ Since April 2024, hackers from Embargo have attacked a number of companies, including American Associated Pharmacies and Weiser Memorial Hospital, obtaining a total of $34.2 million from them.
Both BlackCat and Embargo operate on a RaaS model, providing ransomware as a service, use the Rust programming language, and share other common features.
✅ The US authorities announced a reward of up to $10 million for any information about hackers from ALPHV, so their desire to disguise themselves is quite logical.
