The pastor transformed into the encryption leader! Using the Solanofi encryption scam, he deceived thousands of believers out of 6 million dollars
Everyone wants to invest in Crypto Assets to make a fortune, including even the pastors. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) accused a pastor from a Washington state church on 12/10 of promoting a Cryptocurrency Ponzi Scheme, using monthly returns of nearly 35% as bait and deceiving nearly 1,500 believers, with a total fraud amount of up to $6 million.
The pastor leads the 'Solanofi' platform, claiming stable profits
According to the CFTC complaint, the pastor named Francier Obando Pinillo claimed to be the CEO of 'Solanofi' and its related companies Solano Partners Ltd. and Solano Capital Investments. He claimed that these companies had built the 'Solano ecosystem' and conducted efficient trading through cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT, etc., allowing customers to make a lot of money.
Pinillo assures victims that they can receive returns of up to 34.9% per month through Solanofi and claims that their platform uses automated trading bots and professional software for trading. Pinillo has also launched a service called 'Solanofi 2.0', which offers Cryptocurrency pledging services and promises 'guaranteed profits' to victims.
The victims believed it to be true and joined a multi-level marketing scheme.
To increase credibility, Pinillo set up a website that allows users to view fictional account statements and allows users to "share the good news" and earn 15% of the profits by recommending new members.
However, CFTC stated that these reports are completely fabricated, and there are no such trades, profits, or accounts. Pinillo actually took possession of all the Cryptocurrency and fiat assets transferred by the victims, without any trading activity at all.
Pastors using language and religious background to deceive
The CFTC stated that Pinillo mainly targeted the Spanish-speaking community and used his identity as a pastor to establish trust and deceive victims who lacked experience in cryptocurrency trading.
The above illegal activities have sparked widespread concern about the abuse of power by religious leaders. The CFTC has requested in the indictment the recovery of all victims' loss funds, confiscation of illegal proceeds, and the imposition of permanent trading bans and injunctions on Pinillo.
