Abstract generation in progress

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman is facing serious charges, with his sister Ann Altman filing a lawsuit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri accusing him of nearly a decade of sexual assault. The indictment alleges that these abuses occurred between 1997 and 2006 at the Altman family's family home.

Ann Altman claims the sexual assault began when she was 3 years old and Sam was 12 years old. Details of the lawsuit show that the acts, which began as oral sex, escalated into penetrative sexual assault, and occurred "several times a week." According to the complaint, these events caused severe emotional stress, mental anguish, and persistent depression for the plaintiffs.

First official legal action

Although Annie has made similar allegations on social media in the past, this is her first formal legal action. Her attorney is Ryan Mahoney, who specializes in sexual assault and harassment cases, and his law firm is located in Illinois.

The lawsuit demands a jury trial and seeks damages in excess of 75,000 US dollars. In addition, the complaint specifically highlights the long-term impact of these events on Anne's mental health and well-being.

The Altman family publicly denies

Sam Altman, along with his mother Connie, brothers Jack and Max, issued a joint statement on Twitter denying these accusations and calling them "completely untrue."

The statement mentioned, "Annie has made extremely damaging and completely untrue accusations against our family, especially against Sam. Out of respect for her privacy, we have always chosen not to respond publicly. But now that she is taking legal action against Sam, we have to respond."

The family also pointed out that Anne is facing 'ongoing mental health issues' and refusing treatment, which has led her to 'attack family members who are genuinely trying to help her.' The Atman family emphasized that this incident has caused immense emotional pain to everyone and described these accusations as 'extremely hurtful'.
