Fraud warning! The Taiwan version of '地面師' is similar to the Japanese TV series of the same name. Remember to apply for land registration change and instant communication protection for parents.
Recently started following the Netflix drama 'Tokyo Swindlers' ((), which is the English title for the Japanese drama '地面師'. I discovered that many of the scam scenes are similar to the 'Taiwanese Version of Tokyo Swindlers' case that was uncovered in Taiwan. The case involved a village chief, a lawyer, even police officers and civil servants from the household registration office. The amount of fraud reached as high as 140 million. As the swindlers target the elderly, who often have dependent family members, it is important to pay attention to their physical and mental well-being and follow up closely.
Netflix Japanese drama ground master introduction
Netflix's Japanese drama 'The Scammers' stars well-known Japanese actor Etsushi Toyokawa, depicting how a fraud group uses vulnerable elderly people with dementia to trick Japanese real estate developers. Their approach is to find 'lookalike' elderly street friends, train them to impersonate property owners, and add the artistic touch of creating lifelike 'deeds' that deceive Japanese real estate developers into transferring large sums of money to the fraud group's account, but in the end, they only purchase loneliness! The money was defrauded and they only got a fake deed from a fake person. This drama is based on a real Japanese case and is very exciting, especially the music. The soundtrack is produced by the famous Japanese House DJ Ishino Takkyu, and the rhythm is fast-paced and never boring! Definitely a must-see series worth following this year.
What happened to the Taiwan version of the ground teacher
Last November, the prosecutor's office prosecuted as many as 44 members of the fraud gang for their involvement in the 'Taiwanese version of ground scam' case, including members such as neighborhood chiefs, police officers, lawyers, and household registration officials.
