A new variant of cryptocurrency crime has occurred in Bangkok as three victims were robbed in a shopping mall parking lot. They were preparing to exchange $100,000 in cryptoassets when they were attacked by five assailants. The criminals may have been involved in setting up this transaction, similar to a case in Phuket last November.

Thai authorities are searching for the perpetrators and have information about the getaway vehicle, but it may have been stolen beforehand. This robbery is not related to blockchain, making tracking difficult. In Thailand, cryptoassets ATMs are not common, therefore the robbers may have had information to carry out this heist.
