Main Forum Opening: Multi-dimensional Deconstruction of Qianhai's Scientific and Technological Innovation Ecosystem "Bay Area Speed"

On the first day of the Carnival, the main stage forum, jointly created by DreamWorks and NovaX, became the focal point of the event. Liu Guilin, Deputy Director of the Qianhai Management Bureau, stated in his opening speech that the cooperation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong is Qianhai's core mission and greatest advantage. He particularly introduced the latest practice of Qianhai in promoting collaborative innovation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong - the "1510" new model launched in August 2024 by DreamWorks. This model aims to construct the "Shenzhen-Hong Kong technology achievement transformation 'Qianhai model' of 'Hong Kong basic research + Bay Area achievement transformation + international market sharing.'"

The general manager of Shenzhen Qianhai Dream Factory Operating Co., Ltd., Mo Weixuan, presided over the event, inviting three guests: Liu Xin, Investment Director of Hongyi Investment, Wang Peng, Director of Innovation and Technology at the University of Hong Kong, and Tan Zhangxi, CEO of Ruisi Xinke. They decoded the "acceleration code" of the Qianhai innovation ecosystem from three dimensions: capital integration, scientific research transformation, and enterprise growth.

As a representative of capital strength, Liu Xin, the Investment Director of Hongyi Investment, revealed the "Practical Experience of Smart Capital in Bay Area Venture Capital". He unveiled the efficient capital connection system built by Qianhai through policy innovation, visually presenting the "fast pace" of capital flow in the Greater Bay Area and interpreting the integration efficiency of global capital with the science and technology innovation of the Bay Area.

Wang Peng, the Director of Innovation and Technology at the University of Hong Kong, represented the scientific research community and shared the groundbreaking achievements of the iDendron incubation model. The biosensor technology developed by his team has transitioned from university laboratories to production lines in Qianhai, showcasing the "Bay Area record" of turning scientific research results into practical applications and demonstrating the "acceleration" of collaborative research between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

As a star enterprise representative incubated by DreamWorks, CEO Tan Zhangxi elaborates on the entire process of RISC-V processor from the germination of ideas to tape-out mass production, particularly mentioning the resources of DreamWorks' "Shenzhen-Hong Kong Dual Laboratory" that help shorten the chip iteration cycle, confirming the company's rapid implementation of "from idea to product" in the ecosystem.

At the end of the forum, Mo Weixuan summarized: "Market forces, capital, talent, research and development, industry, and policy empower each other to jointly drive the rapid development of the Greater Bay Area. In the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, especially in Qianhai, startups are thriving, and investor returns are accelerating. This place is building the future with innovative vitality. Whether you are an entrepreneur with a vision or an investor seeking opportunities, Qianhai is the ideal choice. I look forward to continuing the discussion with everyone at the exhibition on how the GBA can reshape possibilities and embark on this journey of technological innovation together."

Exhibition Area and Roadshow: DreamWorks Enterprise Matrix Showcases Hard Technology Strength

The central exhibition area of the carnival features a prominent "1+10" booth matrix from the DreamWorks. The main booth is based on the concept of the "Shenzhen-Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Integration Corridor," with a dynamic data wall presenting real-time achievements in science and technology innovation and investment financing; over twenty park enterprises showcase their strengths, with Tuling Technology's smart travel robot engaging in discussions with the London Development Agency, and Chuangleng Technology's low-carbon refrigeration technology deeply connecting with the J.P. Morgan investment team. The DreamWorks exhibition area has over a hundred domestic and international enterprise representatives and guests visiting, and invites more than 50 international startup teams to step into Qianhai, seeking further opportunities for exchange and cooperation. During the roadshow session, DreamWorks focuses on showcasing projects in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, new materials, and smart health, attracting the attention of numerous investment institutions. Among them, five companies from DreamWorks participated in the on-site roadshow presentation, conducting one-on-one in-depth connections with investors and successfully achieving preliminary cooperation intentions. The international roadshow is a key gateway to integrate into the global industrial chain and accelerate technological iteration; DreamWorks not only provides a stage for enterprises to showcase but also builds a connection to international capital channels, injecting momentum into industrial development.

DreamWorks Fund debuts: Accelerating the aggregation of international capital resources

At this venture capital exchange and docking meeting, DreamWorks made a strong appearance with its DreamWorks Fund, engaging in in-depth discussions with several well-known investment institutions worldwide. The DreamWorks Fund relies on the NovaX international resource network, precisely focusing on cross-border capital connection.

At the event, DreamWorks efficiently connected with over 20 investment institutions. This large-scale precise matching not only significantly broadened the fund's international capital channels and accelerated the fundraising process, but more importantly, it provided a rich reserve of high-quality cooperative resources for the subsequent selection and formation of sub-funds focused on different strategic emerging fields, marking a key step in building a multi-level, international fund ecosystem.

When discussing the fund development strategy, Liang Shengyu, the on-site person in charge of DreamWorks, emphasized: "Through the NovaX network, we will inject a strong 'international gene' and global industrial insights into the DreamWorks fund. This matchmaking meeting has opened up an efficient new path for raising funds for the mother fund, while also laying a solid LP resource foundation and cross-regional capital synergy capability for the future layout of sub-funds in strategic emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, biomedicine, and new materials."

General Manager Interview: Decoding the Evolution of the DreamWorks Ecosystem, Anchoring an International Super Incubator

In an interview at the NovaX Carnival, when asked how the DreamWorks can upgrade from a startup service to an industry accelerator, Mo Weixuan, the general manager of the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth DreamWorks, pointed to the unique gene of deep integration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. "Our operating team consists of 60% mainland members and 40% Hong Kong members. This complementary combination is key to achieving seamless collaboration," Mo Weixuan said. This advantage of integration has directly translated into significant results: as of May 2025, among the 589 teams incubated, the proportion of teams from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and international teams reached as high as 86%, with the total financing amount of incubated enterprises exceeding 6.2 billion yuan, successfully cultivating a number of benchmark enterprises, including 77 national high-tech enterprises and 18 specialized and innovative enterprises (including 2 national-level "little giants").

Faced with the booming demand where the park's space allocation rate has exceeded 90% and the annual number of applications has surpassed 400, Mo Weixuan clearly outlined the future vision of the DreamWorks: to fully build an international super incubator in the Greater Bay Area. He emphasized that internationalization is the strategic core to achieve this grand goal. The platform has established substantial cooperation with 10 countries, reaching over a hundred overseas institutions. "Our mission is not only to introduce global innovative forces but also to promote local enterprises to shine on the world stage," he revealed. Attracting international startups to settle in will be a top priority in the upcoming layout. Meanwhile, Mo Weixuan pointed out that the newly launched DreamWorks Fund, through investing in sub-funds and direct capital injection, is building a "fund group to support Hong Kong people and enterprises," continuously injecting strong capital momentum into the entire innovation ecosystem, and accelerating the process of realizing the "international super incubator" blueprint.

Strategic cooperation upgrade: The new channel for Shenzhen-Hong Kong international venture capital is taking shape.

In the integration of strategic cooperation upgrades and Bay Area exploration, the collaborative practice between DreamWorks and NovaX becomes the finishing touch. Both parties previously reached a deep cooperation intention and during the carnival period, they established the "Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Venture Capital Resource Pool", co-hosted the "Qianhai-NovaX Biweekly Roadshow", set up the "Innovation Liaison Officer" mechanism, developed the "Bay Area Sci-Tech Innovation Index", among other measures, to break cross-border venture capital barriers through resource integration, shorten financing cycles through regular roadshows, reduce development costs through full-chain services, and provide decision-making references through quantitative indices, achieving a leap from simple resource accumulation to ecological energy level elevation.

NovaX connects the "source of living water" for global capital, complementing the advantages of DreamWorks’ "experimental field" rooted in Qianhai, jointly constructing a collaborative pattern of Hong Kong-Shenzhen integration. In this carnival, DreamWorks deeply participates as a "bridge builder", leveraging the synergy of Hong Kong and Shenzhen resources to help build an open and shared sci-tech innovation ecosystem, providing replicable paths for integrating global innovation resources in the Greater Bay Area, and promoting the expansion of the Greater Bay Area’s development space in the global sci-tech innovation landscape. As a pioneer of collaborative innovation, it opens a new chapter in the ecological construction of the Greater Bay Area.
