PANews January 30th news, according to the DFINITY announcement, the Solenoid upgrade has been officially completed, and the edge infrastructure of ICP has achieved full decentralization. Previously, the boundary nodes were operated by the DFINITY Foundation, but in the new architecture, the boundary nodes have been split into API boundary nodes and HTTP gateways, responsible for request routing and HTTP request conversion, thereby improving network security, scalability, and decentralization.
Currently, ICP has deployed 20 API boundary Nodes, forming its public network edge, while DFINITY continues to operate multiple HTTP gateways to ensure a smooth transition of the system. Developers can directly connect to the API boundary Nodes through the Discovery Library, bypassing the HTTP gateways and fully leveraging the advantages of the new architecture.
